When people imagine Morocco’s 2030 World Cup preparations, the first things that come to mind are usually massive stadiums, packed stands and international football stars.

But there’s another part of the preparations that doesn’t always make it into the headlines.

The technology behind the stadiums themselves.

New details about the modernization of the Grand Stade de Fès reveal plans to transform the venue into a technologically advanced sports complex ahead of the tournament.

According to reporting published on October 21, approximately 1.52 billion MAD is being mobilized for a new stage of technical infrastructure works.

And we’re talking about much more than new seats and better lighting.

A stadium that works like a smart city?

The planned upgrades include advanced cybersecurity systems, surveillance technology involving drones, stronger communication networks and measures designed to improve the stadium’s energy independence.

The project also includes technical facilities supporting athlete preparation and recovery.

The aim is to prepare the stadium to handle the demands of major international events, where thousands of spectators, broadcasters, security teams and organizers depend on systems functioning simultaneously.

Think about everything that happens during a World Cup match.

Security cameras are operating, tickets are being checked, media teams are transmitting footage around the world and enormous amounts of information are moving through digital networks.

A modern stadium needs infrastructure capable of supporting all of that.

And with Morocco preparing to co-host the 2030 tournament alongside Spain and Portugal, those requirements are becoming part of a larger national construction programme.

Of course, plans and budgets aren’t the same as completed facilities.

The actual impact will depend on how the upgrades are implemented.

But one thing is becoming clear: Morocco’s World Cup preparations aren’t limited to building bigger stadiums.

They’re also about making those stadiums smarter.

Fortnite already has a pretty impressive celebrity guest list.

And it looks like A$AP Rocky is preparing to become its newest addition.

The rapper has shared an eight-second teaser on Instagram revealing an upcoming collaboration with the popular battle royale game.

The clip features bold red-and-black, anime-inspired visuals, with flashes of characters, weapons and what appears to be Rocky’s own Fortnite outfit.

And naturally, players have already started investigating every frame.

What exactly is coming to Fortnite?

The teaser appears connected to Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 7 mini-season, which is expected to introduce pirate-inspired elements.

Among the details fans noticed are a mysterious chest, a rocket launcher and imagery resembling The Yacht, a location familiar to longtime Fortnite players.

There’s also a musical clue.

Players have reportedly heard Rocky’s track RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n) playing near a mysterious chest already present in the game.

The rapper’s collaboration fits into Fortnite’s growing relationship with music and celebrity culture.

Over the years, the game has featured artists through character outfits, virtual performances and music-related experiences.

For musicians, appearing in Fortnite offers another way of reaching audiences beyond streaming platforms and traditional music videos.

And Rocky’s distinctive fashion identity makes him an interesting addition.

But before anyone starts planning their next outfit combination, there are a few things worth clarifying.

An official release date, full cosmetics list and pricing details haven’t been announced.

A November 1 launch has been discussed in gaming coverage, but that date should still be treated as unconfirmed.

For now, what we have is a teaser and plenty of speculation.

And knowing Fortnite fans, eight seconds of footage is more than enough to start an entire investigation.

For anyone who grew up playing Mass Effect, Dragon Age or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, this is a difficult headline.

BioWare is shutting down.

After more than three decades of creating some of gaming’s most recognizable role-playing adventures, the studio confirmed on October 21 that it would be closing.

And there’s more disappointing news for fans.

Early development of the next Mass Effect game has officially ended.

The announcement comes as parent company Electronic Arts restructures its operations, shifting resources toward a smaller number of major projects.

According to reporting by Reuters and the Associated Press, approximately 400 jobs are being cut across EA, including around 50 at BioWare.

Th end of a gaming era.

BioWare wasn’t known for making ordinary action games.

It built its reputation around stories in which players could make decisions, develop relationships with characters and influence how entire adventures unfolded.

For many fans, Mass Effect wasn’t simply a science-fiction shooter.

It was a universe filled with characters they spent years getting to know.

And Dragon Age helped make fantasy role-playing games feel personal through dialogue, choices and relationships.

But BioWare had faced challenges in recent years.

Anthem, released in 2019, struggled to establish itself, while later projects received mixed reactions or failed to meet commercial expectations.

The closure also reflects wider uncertainty across the gaming industry, where restructuring, layoffs and canceled projects have affected developers of different sizes.

In its farewell message, BioWare thanked the players who had supported its worlds and characters over the years.

Other EA projects, including upcoming Star Wars Jedi and Marvel games, are continuing.

But for Mass Effect fans hoping to return to that universe in another BioWare game, the announcement brings a major disappointment.

After more than 30 years, one of gaming’s best-known storytelling studios is reaching its final chapter.

You know that feeling when Spotify recommends a song and you have absolutely no idea why it’s there?

Well, some of those recommendations might have been part of a much bigger problem.

Spotify has revealed that it removed more than 50 million tracks identified as AI-generated slop or spam from its recommendation systems this year.

Yes, 50 million.

In an announcement published on October 20, the streaming platform explained that it has been working to stop low-quality, repetitive and potentially misleading content from taking over people’s listening experiences.

And that’s not the only number worth paying attention to.

Spotify says it has separately removed more than 75 million spam tracks from the platform entirely because of serious or repeated violations of its rules.

So, is Spotify banning AI music?

Not exactly.

The platform isn’t banning every song created with artificial intelligence.

Instead, it’s trying to distinguish legitimate creative work from content designed to manipulate algorithms, generate artificial streams or flood the platform with mass-produced music.

Spotify uses a combination of listener feedback, skipping patterns, upload activity, metadata and AI detection tools to identify suspicious content.

The goal is to make recommendations more useful while protecting genuine artists from being buried under enormous amounts of spam.

This matters for emerging musicians, including Moroccan artists trying to reach new audiences.

When a platform becomes saturated with algorithmically generated content, getting discovered can become even more difficult for independent musicians.

There’s also a bigger question about the future of music.

As AI tools become increasingly capable of producing songs in seconds, what makes listeners connect with an artist?

Spotify’s latest changes suggest that, at least when it comes to recommendations, the platform wants to prioritize authentic artistry over automated volume.

Somewhere in your ChatGPT history, there’s probably a conversation you would rather nobody accidentally opened.

Maybe it’s a personal question, an unfinished business idea, a surprise you’re planning or a conversation that makes absolutely no sense without context.

Whatever it is, ChatGPT now has a feature designed to give selected conversations an extra layer of privacy.

On October 20, OpenAI introduced Locked Chats, allowing users to protect individual conversations without deleting them.

The feature lets people secure selected chats using a four-digit PIN or supported biometric authentication, such as Face ID or Touch ID.

Once locked, those conversations are moved out of the regular chat history and hidden from normal search results.

To open them again, users need to authenticate.

Finally, some privacy for that chat history?

Well, a specific kind of privacy.

Locked Chats are designed to prevent other people using your device from casually opening certain conversations.

They’re not the same as Temporary Chats, which work differently and don’t remain in the usual conversation history.

There’s also an important distinction between hiding a conversation on your screen and changing how its data is stored.

Locking a conversation doesn’t automatically delete its information or change the platform’s retention policies.

The feature is rolling out gradually, including to supported ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces.

That means availability can vary depending on the account.

Still, as more people use AI for studying, working, brainstorming and discussing personal situations, privacy controls are becoming an increasingly important part of the experience.

And for anyone who has ever handed their phone to a friend while worrying about what might appear on the screen, the appeal is fairly obvious.

Some friendships survive anything.

Others struggle to survive ten minutes of someone explaining a puzzle incorrectly.

And if you and your best friend belong to the second category, there’s a new game that might put your teamwork to the test.

We Were Here Tomorrow, the latest entry in Total Mayhem Games’ cooperative puzzle adventure series, has arrived with a mystery that two players must solve together.

The story begins when two explorers find themselves trapped inside a mysterious facility belonging to Norček Industries.

They’re somewhere beneath the Antarctic ice, with limited memories of how they got there and plenty of unanswered questions waiting for them.

Their mission is to investigate the facility, understand what happened and find a way forward.

Sounds manageable, right?

There’s one small problem. You can’t solve everything alone.

The game uses asymmetrical cooperative gameplay, meaning the two players don’t necessarily experience the same things.

One person might discover information that the other needs to solve a puzzle, while the second player could have the answer to a completely different problem.

Neither person has the full picture.

So communication becomes part of the gameplay itself.

You’ll need to describe what you see, listen carefully and work together instead of trying to become the main character.

Naturally, that also creates opportunities for some very entertaining misunderstandings.

The title continues the We Were Here series’ focus on cooperation, mystery and puzzle-solving.

It launched on Steam on October 20.

For players who enjoy escape rooms, teamwork challenges and games that are better with a friend, this is one to know about.

Now the only question is whether your duo can communicate long enough to escape.

Your Steam wishlist is about to become a lot more crowded.

And for once, you don’t necessarily need to spend money to discover your next favorite game.

Steam Next Fest is officially underway, giving PC gamers access to a huge collection of free playable demos from upcoming releases.

The event opened on October 19 and runs until October 26.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, Steam Next Fest is essentially a digital festival where developers let players experience their games before launch.

Instead of watching trailers and trying to guess whether a title will be worth buying, people can download a demo and test it themselves.

The selection includes everything from horror and survival games to cozy adventures, strategy titles, role-playing games and experimental independent projects.

Many participating developers also organize livestreams, allowing players to watch gameplay, ask questions and learn more about projects still in development.

It’s particularly important for smaller studios.

While major publishers can spend enormous amounts promoting a new release, independent developers often rely on events like Next Fest to introduce their work to potential audiences.

A successful demo can help a previously unknown game build a community months before its official release.

For players, the advantage is obvious.

You get to explore upcoming titles without committing to a purchase.

And if something catches your attention, you can add it to your wishlist and receive updates when the full game becomes available.

One thing worth remembering: these are demos, not thousands of complete games being given away permanently.

Some demos may also disappear after the festival.

For Moroccan gamers looking for something new without spending hundreds of dirhams, it’s an opportunity worth exploring.

So maybe don’t make too many plans this week.

Your PC has a different schedule in mind.

Apple has two very different things on its agenda this week: changing how advertisers track people online and preparing its next generation of computers.

And both could affect how we use our devices.

First, privacy.

Apple has explained new restrictions designed to prevent advertising companies from secretly connecting people’s activity across different websites and devices.

The changes focus on a tracking technique known as identity resolution.

Here’s how it works.

When someone enters an email address to log into a website or subscribe to a newsletter, some advertising companies attempt to use that information to recognize the same person elsewhere online.

Apple argues that users shouldn’t have their identities connected across unrelated websites without their knowledge or consent.

The company is strengthening restrictions within WebKit, the browser technology behind Safari, to block infrastructure associated with this form of tracking.

The decision has frustrated parts of the advertising industry, which rely on data to measure campaigns and target potential customers.

Meanwhile, Apple has another announcement coming.

The company has scheduled a product presentation called Pro and Tell for October 28 in Los Angeles.

And one of the biggest rumors involves a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen.

Yes, an actual touchscreen MacBook.

For years, Apple has kept its MacBook computers separate from the touch-focused experience of the iPad.

But reports suggest the upcoming models could introduce touch controls, a redesigned screen and an interface adapted to gestures.

Apple hasn’t officially confirmed those features, so the touchscreen remains a reported expectation rather than a guaranteed announcement.

Still, the combination of stronger privacy protections and potentially redesigned laptops suggests Apple is preparing changes on two fronts.

One is about protecting what happens behind your screen.

The other could change how you interact with it.

Artificial intelligence can write essays, generate images, create songs and answer questions in seconds.

But can a drawing explain the things we’re still struggling to understand about it?

That’s the idea behind a free exhibition currently taking place in Casablanca.

Titled Intelligence artificielle, droits devant !, the exhibition brings together international press cartoons exploring how artificial intelligence is changing our relationship with technology, information and personal freedom.

Organized by Cartooning for Peace, it is being hosted at the FabLab of the Institut français de Casablanca until October 30.

Rather than relying on complicated technical explanations, the exhibition uses illustrations, satire and humor to examine some of the biggest questions surrounding AI.

Who controls the information we see online?

How much influence should algorithms have over our decisions?

And what happens when machines begin performing tasks that were traditionally reserved for humans?

These are questions that have become increasingly relevant, particularly for younger generations growing up with artificial intelligence integrated into everyday digital life.

From personalized social media feeds to AI-powered search engines, automated systems already play an important role in shaping how people interact with the internet.

But understanding those systems isn’t always easy.

Political cartoons offer a different approach.

A single illustration can communicate a complicated argument through humor, exaggeration or an unexpected visual metaphor.

The exhibition also encourages visitors to think critically about technology rather than accepting every new development as automatically beneficial or dangerous.

For Casablanca’s cultural scene, it’s an interesting meeting point between contemporary art and one of today’s most discussed technologies.

And the best part? Admission is free.

The exhibition runs till October  30 at the Institut français de Casablanca, 121 Boulevard Mohamed Zerktouni.

A chance to explore AI without having to ask ChatGPT to explain it first.

Artificial intelligence companies are becoming some of the most valuable businesses in the world.

But as AI becomes more powerful, one question keeps coming up: who’s actually going to benefit from all that money?

Anthropic, the company behind AI assistant Claude, has announced a new initiative aimed at directing part of its growing value toward public benefit.

On October 18, the company revealed plans to allocate 5% of its shares to a newly created Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, subject to shareholder approval.

And the percentage could eventually increase.

Under the proposed arrangement, Anthropic’s board would have the option to contribute an additional 2% for every 50% increase in the company’s valuation above a specified baseline.

But what would the money actually be used for?

Anthropic says the fund could support nonprofit organizations, scientific initiatives and programmes addressing the social consequences of artificial intelligence.

One major area of concern is employment.

AI is already changing the way people write, research, design, code and perform administrative work.

While those technologies could create new opportunities, they also raise concerns about jobs being automated or transformed faster than workers can adapt.

Anthropic says it has previously committed $200 million toward studying and addressing the effects of AI on employment.

The new fund could provide additional resources for projects tackling challenges like these.

However, the announcement doesn’t mean ordinary people will immediately receive money from Anthropic.

The company still needs to provide further information about the fund’s governance, its decision-making process and how projects will be selected.

There’s also a bigger conversation here.

As technology companies become increasingly influential, public expectations about their responsibilities are changing.

And for a company building technology that could transform entire industries, committing a portion of its ownership to public benefit is a notable decision.

The real test will be how that promise translates into action.

Imagine building a platform where millions of people can talk to fictional characters, celebrities and AI personalities, only for the company behind it to end up in bankruptcy.

Now imagine Disney entering the picture.

That’s the unexpected situation surrounding Character.AI, the chatbot platform that became popular for letting users have conversations with AI-generated personalities.

Following the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Disney has agreed to offer jobs to at least 60 Character.AI employees, representing the majority of its workforce.

New details reported on October 18 reveal that the employment arrangement could involve approximately $60 million in annual compensation.

And the connection between the two companies is already growing.

Character.AI’s former CEO, Karandeep Anand, recently became Disney’s first chief technology officer, while the entertainment company has also agreed to a proposed $20 million deal involving a license to certain Character.AI assets.

But there’s an important detail: the bankruptcy sale process is not yet final.

Disney’s proposal forms part of a process that allows competing offers, meaning another company could potentially present a different deal.

Character.AI’s financial troubles come despite its large and active user base.

The company has faced significant operating costs, legal challenges and concerns about the safety of AI companions, especially when younger people use them.

Those issues have become part of a wider conversation about the responsibilities of companies developing conversational AI.

Meanwhile, Disney has decades of experience creating fictional worlds and characters people form emotional connections with.

That makes its growing interest in AI talent particularly noteworthy.

For now, Disney’s involvement doesn’t mean users will suddenly be able to chat with every Disney character through Character.AI.

But it does show how valuable AI expertise has become to the entertainment industry.

Even when an AI startup struggles to survive, the technology and people behind it can remain highly attractive.

At 19, most people are figuring out university, internships or what they want to do with their lives.

Zach Yadegari has already built an app that generated more than $30 million in revenue.

And one of his biggest business strategies involved something many of us spend hours watching every day: influencers.

Yadegari is the co-founder of Cal AI, an artificial intelligence app that helps users estimate calories and track their meals through photographs.

Instead of manually entering every ingredient, users can take a picture of their food and let AI do the calculations.

The concept sounds simple, but turning it into a successful business required something more than technology.

Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt on October 15, Yadegari explained how influencer marketing became central to the app’s growth.

Rather than relying exclusively on traditional advertising, the company worked with numerous creators who introduced Cal AI to their audiences through social media.

The strategy worked.

According to Yadegari, one early influencer campaign brought approximately 1,000 new users to the app in only two days.

As more creators began promoting the platform, Cal AI expanded rapidly, generating more than $30 million in revenue over two years.

In March 2026, MyFitnessPal acquired the business for an undisclosed amount.

And Yadegari didn’t stop there. He has since launched another AI startup called Persona, which recently raised $10 million in funding.

His story highlights how dramatically the startup world has changed.

A product no longer needs a massive advertising campaign or a famous company behind it to reach millions of people.

Sometimes, the difference between an app nobody knows and a multimillion-dollar business is a creator with the right audience.

A reminder that the people posting TikToks aren’t always wasting their time.

Some families pass down businesses, houses or jewelry. The Belmont family passes down the responsibility of fighting monsters, hunting vampires and making sure Dracula doesn’t ruin everyone’s day.

And today, they’re back.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse officially launches on October 15, bringing one of gaming’s most recognizable gothic franchises back with a new story, a new protagonist and plenty of creatures that look like they belong in your worst nightmares.

This time, the adventure takes place in Paris in 1499, more than two decades after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.

At the center of the story is Rose Belmont, daughter of the legendary vampire hunter Trevor Belmont. And like her father, Rose isn’t exactly living a peaceful life.

Armed with the family’s famous Vampire Killer whip, she must navigate dangerous environments, face powerful enemies and uncover the dark forces threatening the city.

Developed by Konami in collaboration with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the game returns to the franchise’s beloved 2D action and exploration formula, with faster combat, new equipment and a system that allows Rose to use abilities collected from defeated bosses.

For longtime fans, there’s plenty of nostalgia. For newcomers, it’s an opportunity to discover why Castlevania remains such an influential name in gaming.

And if you recognize the franchise from Netflix’s animated adaptation, this could be your introduction to the games that started everything.

Apparently, being a Belmont means the family business never closes.

Netflix helped change the way an entire generation watches television.

Now, the streaming giant is facing a different challenge: keeping people interested in watching television at all.

The company has confirmed plans to cut approximately 1,000 jobs, representing around 6% of its workforce.

The layoffs, announced on October 14, primarily affect employees working in product development, technology, legal affairs and human resources.

According to Netflix, the decision is part of an effort to reorganize its resources and focus investment on areas considered most important to its future.

The company insists that its business remains strong and that it is continuing to invest in growth and innovation.

But the announcement also arrives at a time when entertainment companies are competing for something increasingly difficult to secure: our attention.

Netflix isn’t only competing with Disney+, Prime Video or HBO Max anymore.

It’s also competing with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and an endless supply of videos that don’t require choosing a series or committing to a 45 minute episode.

For younger audiences especially, entertainment habits have changed considerably.

One evening might involve watching a Netflix series. Another might disappear entirely into TikTok, YouTube videos or gaming.

Netflix has responded by expanding its advertising business, experimenting with live events and investing in different forms of entertainment.

Still, the layoffs are a reminder that even companies shaping the future of entertainment face difficult decisions about their own workforces.

For the employees affected, this isn’t an abstract business strategy. It’s a major disruption to their careers.

And for the streaming industry, it’s another sign that having millions of subscribers doesn’t make a company immune to pressure.

Imagine discovering your new favorite song, adding it to every playlist, playing it on repeat for a week and then finding out the artist behind it doesn’t actually exist.

Welcome to the increasingly complicated world of AI generated music.

YouTube Music is introducing new labels that help listeners identify songs created with generative artificial intelligence.

Announced on October 14, the feature is designed to make the role of AI more visible when people listen to music.

When a track has been created primarily using generative AI, a label will appear directly on its player page.

Listeners can tap it to find additional information about how the technology was involved in the creative process.

The system also distinguishes between music fully generated by AI, music partially created with AI and tracks that don’t use generative AI.

These labels are expected to expand to the main YouTube platform as well.

The announcement arrives as AI generated songs become increasingly sophisticated, raising questions about artistic ownership, originality and transparency.

Some tools can now create convincing vocals, instrumentals and complete compositions from relatively simple instructions.

For listeners, distinguishing human performances from synthetic creations is becoming more difficult.

And YouTube isn’t the only platform responding.

Deezer has also announced plans to introduce an option allowing users to exclude AI generated music from their listening experience before the end of 2026.

The bigger question is whether knowing a song was made with AI will actually change how people feel about it.

After all, music is deeply connected to human experiences, emotions and storytelling.

But what happens when a machine becomes capable of creating something that sounds emotionally convincing?

Would you still love your favorite song if you discovered there was no human artist behind it?

Apple wants a screen in your house.

And apparently, it wants that screen to know exactly who is looking at it.

The company has introduced HomeView, a new seven-inch smart display designed to sit inside the home and control everything from smart devices to calls and entertainment.

But the most interesting feature is this:

It can recognize up to six different people in the same household.

Basically, the screen can change depending on who walks up to it.

Different reminders. Different calendars., Different music. Different information.

Your house now has profiles.

The device is powered by Apple’s newer Siri AI system and is meant to work as a central control point for smart-home devices, FaceTime calls and everyday tasks.

Think of it like a mix between an iPad, a home assistant and a tiny personal dashboard.

The obvious question is privacy.

Because a device knowing who is standing in front of it sounds convenient.

But it also means another camera-enabled object learning the rhythms of your home.

Apple says the feature is designed around user privacy, but the idea itself is still going to make some people pause.

Especially now that smart-home tech is becoming less about buttons and more about recognition.

HomeView starts at $299 in the US, roughly 2,900 MAD, and launches in selected markets in November.

Still, the bigger idea is clear.

The future smart home does not only respond to commands.

It recognizes you first.

One of the internet’s biggest AI roleplay platforms is in serious trouble.

Character.AI has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, marking a major turn for a platform that became especially popular with younger users who wanted to chat with fictional characters, celebrities and custom AI personalities.

The company says the platform will continue operating during the bankruptcy process.

So no, it is not disappearing overnight. But its future is now very uncertain.

The weirdest part of the story?

Disney is involved.

A deal connected to the bankruptcy process includes around $20 million worth of assets and technology rights, with Disney linked to the transaction.

That does not mean Disney is simply buying Character.AI as a whole.

The situation is more complicated than that.

But it does mean some of the platform’s technology and assets could end up moving elsewhere while the company tries to restructure.

For users, this raises a very different kind of question.

What happens to a platform built around emotional attachment when the business behind it starts collapsing?

Character.AI was not only used like a normal chatbot.

People built ongoing conversations. Characters. Storylines.

Entire digital relationships.

That made it much more personal than another random AI app.

And that is why bankruptcy hits differently here.

It is not only a tech company struggling financially.

It is potentially millions of people wondering whether the digital characters they talk to every day will still be there tomorrow.

AI companionship suddenly has a very old-school problem.

Money.

Facebook is giving users something they have wanted for years.

A little control.

Meta is rolling out a new feature called Your Algorithm, designed to let people tell Facebook which topics they want to see more or less of.

Yes. You can finally talk back to the feed.

The feature works across Feed and Reels, letting users select interests or even describe preferences in natural language.

So instead of silently suffering through ten videos about something you accidentally watched once, you can actually tell the platform:

More music. Less random cooking. More football.

Please stop showing me conspiracy videos from somebody’s uncle.

Meta says recommendations will adjust as the system learns from the preferences people give it.

The feature is interesting because social media algorithms have always felt invisible.

They decide what you see.

You react.

Then they decide again.

Now Facebook is making that process a little more direct.

Of course, it does not mean the algorithm suddenly becomes your personal employee.

The platform will still use your behaviour, interactions and other signals to recommend content.

But giving users a clearer way to shape those recommendations could make the experience feel less random.

It also shows how much social platforms are changing.

For years, companies acted like the algorithm knew you better than you knew yourself.

Now they are basically asking:

Okay, fine.

What do you actually want?

Better late than never.

Xbox is opening the door to more AI experimentation in gaming.

The company has announced Xbox Labs, a new initiative designed to explore emerging technologies, including AI-assisted game development and experimental tools.

And that could get weird very quickly.

AI is already making it easier for developers and fans to create things that used to require much more time and technical skill.

Character swaps. Game modifications. New environments. Prototype mechanics.

Entire weird little experiences that probably should not exist but somehow do.

Xbox Labs is basically meant to explore that space.

Important detail, though:

This does not mean Xbox is officially making random AI mashups between famous games.

So no, Master Chief is not suddenly becoming a playable character in every franchise tomorrow.

The initiative is more about testing what these new tools can actually do.

And that is where the debate starts.

For some developers, AI could make experimentation faster and cheaper.

For others, it raises obvious concerns around jobs, creative ownership and whether studios will start replacing human work with generated content.

Gamers are already split on this.

Some people love the chaos.

Others want AI nowhere near the games they play.

And Xbox stepping into the conversation means the industry is probably going to have to deal with it more seriously.

Because AI-generated mods are not some far-off idea anymore.

People are already making them.

The question now is whether major gaming companies want to encourage that chaos.

Or control it.

The MENA startup scene had a very big September.

Morocco? Not so much.

Startups across the Middle East and North Africa raised around $1.1 billion in September 2026.

Moroccan startups, meanwhile, recorded only $100,000 from one disclosed deal during the same month.

That gap is hard to ignore.

And no, it does not mean Moroccan startups are doing nothing.

It means that, in that specific month, the publicly disclosed investment flowing into Morocco was tiny compared with the wider region.

For young founders, that raises a pretty important question:

Why is it still so difficult to raise serious startup money here?

Morocco has spent years trying to build a stronger startup ecosystem, with incubators, accelerators, fintech initiatives and public programmes supporting entrepreneurs.

There is talent. There are ideas. There are founders building products.

But getting from “cool startup” to “company that can actually scale” usually requires capital.

And that is where things get harder.

The interesting part is that Morocco has attracted much more investment over a longer period through programmes like InnovInvest, which has helped mobilize tens of millions of dollars in private capital.

So the ecosystem is not dead.

Far from it.

But one weak month can still show how uneven funding is.

Startups do not grow on motivation alone.

They need money for teams, technology, marketing and expansion.

So when MENA raises more than a billion dollars in one month and Morocco gets $100K, the question is not whether Moroccan founders have ideas.

It is whether enough investors are willing to bet on them.

Meta’s latest AI upgrade has one very specific goal: Remember more about you.

The company has introduced new AI models called Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, designed to handle more complicated tasks while keeping useful information from previous conversations in memory.

Meta calls the feature active memory.

Basically, instead of starting from zero every time you talk to the AI, the system can hold onto relevant details and use them later.

That could mean remembering your preferences, the projects you are working on or the way you like certain tasks done.

Sounds convenient.

Also sounds like something people are definitely going to have questions about.

Because there is a big difference between an AI that answers one question and an AI that slowly builds context around your habits.

On one side, that could make assistants much more useful.

Imagine not having to explain your whole project every time.

Or your travel preferences. Or the fact that you hate long answers.

On the other side, it creates the obvious privacy question: How much do you actually want an AI to remember?

Meta says the new models perform better on longer and more complex tasks, based on the company’s own internal testing.

But the bigger story is less about benchmarks.

It is about where AI assistants are heading.

They are becoming less like search boxes and more like persistent digital companions that know your history.

And that sounds great until you remember who owns the memory.

The future of AI might not be about asking better questions.

It might be about deciding what you are comfortable letting the machine remember.M

Nicolas Cage has made his position on AI extremely clear.

He does not want it anywhere near his performance.

During an appearance at New York Comic Con, Cage said Amazon asked him to sign an AI waiver connected to Spider Noir, the Prime Video series where he played Ben Reilly.

He says he refused.

Cage described himself as not being an “AI friendly actor” and suggested the disagreement could mean he does not work with Amazon again.

Amazon has not publicly confirmed his version of the waiver request.

Still, the comments land right in the middle of one of Hollywood’s biggest arguments.

What happens to an actor’s face, voice and performance once a studio can digitally recreate them?

That question stopped being theoretical a while ago.

Actors have already pushed for protections over digital replicas, especially after generative AI became one of the central issues in Hollywood’s labour disputes.

Cage has been particularly outspoken about it.

For him, acting is tied to something physical and human, including all the weird choices, imperfections and unpredictability that happen during a performance.

And if there is one actor whose entire career proves that unpredictability matters, it is probably Nicolas Cage.

The whole story also shows why AI consent is becoming such a big deal.

Signing onto a project used to mean agreeing to be filmed.

Now actors may also have to think about whether their image or performance can be digitally altered, reused or recreated later.

Hollywood has spent years asking actors to give everything to a role.

Apparently Nicolas Cage has found one thing he is keeping.

Himself.

Your carton of milk apparently has stronger safety rules than some of the world’s most powerful AI.

That comparison comes from Microsoft president Brad Smith, who is calling for tougher regulation around artificial intelligence.

Smith argued that everyday products like milk and washing machines already operate under established safety standards and inspections.

AI? Not nearly to the same extent.

And when you put it that way, it sounds slightly ridiculous.

A washing machine has rules about what it is allowed to do.

An AI system capable of writing code, generating convincing fake content or taking actions online can still exist inside a much less settled regulatory environment.

Smith is calling for stronger safeguards, including so called emergency brakes that could pause or contain advanced AI systems if they start behaving dangerously.

He also wants clearer obligations for companies when AI systems are involved in cyber incidents.

The interesting part is that this warning is coming from Microsoft.

Not exactly a company standing outside the AI boom complaining about it.

Microsoft has invested heavily in the technology and sells AI products across its business.

That makes the message less “AI is bad” and more “we should probably agree on some rules before this gets even bigger.”

Because AI development is moving ridiculously fast.

Regulation usually does not.

And suddenly we are living in a world where your breakfast milk may have gone through a clearer safety process than the chatbot helping someone write software.

Technology is moving forward.

The rulebook is still loading.

Someone looked at Call of Duty and thought: What if this ran in Chrome?

Developer Luckey Faraday created unofficial browser recreations of classic Call of Duty experiences using AI coding tools.

One project, hilariously called Claude of Duty: Vibe Slops II, recreated Black Ops II style multiplayer with bots on familiar maps including Hijacked.

Another recreated the famous Kino der Toten Zombies experience.

And yes, they actually ran inside a browser.

For a moment.

Then Activision showed up.

Faraday says the publisher issued DMCA takedown notices, leading to the hosted games and related posts being removed.

Activision has not publicly detailed the notices. But there is one pretty obvious complication here.

These were not completely original games inspired by Call of Duty.

The projects reportedly used maps, models and animations taken from the original PC releases.

Which is the part where “fun fan project” starts becoming a copyright lawyer’s favourite email.

Still, the story is interesting for another reason.

AI coding tools are making it much faster for individual developers to recreate surprisingly complex software.

That means we are probably going to see a lot more people experimenting with unofficial versions of games that would previously have required entire teams.

Whether publishers let those projects survive is another question.

This one lasted long enough to prove that browser Call of Duty could work.

Then Activision basically hit uninstall.

Very on brand.

« On parle beaucoup d’IA.

Apparently Claude has boundaries now.

Anthropic, the company behind the AI chatbot, has updated its rules to ban repeated and unnecessary abusive behaviour toward its models.

Before you panic because you once told Claude its answer was terrible, that is not really what this is about.

Normal frustration is still normal.

Arguing with the chatbot is fine.

Testing it is fine.

Even dark fictional content is not automatically the issue.

The new rule is aimed more at people repeatedly interacting with the model purely to be cruel or abusive for no real reason.

And yes, that means Claude can now end the conversation if things go too far.

We have officially reached the point where an AI can basically decide it is done with your attitude.

The stranger part is why Anthropic says it is doing this.

The company has been discussing bigger questions around AI welfare and whether future systems could eventually deserve some level of moral consideration.

To be clear, this does not mean Anthropic is saying Claude is conscious.

It is more of a precaution.

The idea is that as AI systems become more advanced, companies may need to think about how people treat them even before anyone fully understands what those systems are capable of experiencing.

So yes, the headline sounds funny.

“Please stop bullying the chatbot.”

But underneath it is a much bigger question.

If AI starts acting more human, do people eventually start treating it like one?

Andrew Garfield played Sam Altman in a movie.

Then apparently decided he wanted a little less AI in his life.

The actor is starring as the OpenAI CEO in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film “Artificial,” and researching the role seems to have changed how he personally feels about the technology.

In an interview with Variety, Garfield said he had used ChatGPT before, mostly for research, but stopped after diving deeper into the world of AI for the film.

Which is objectively a pretty funny outcome.

Imagine preparing to play the CEO of an AI company and coming out the other side thinking, “Actually, maybe I’m good.”

Garfield did not frame it as some dramatic anti-AI campaign.

His comments were more about discomfort and uncertainty after learning more about how the technology works and where it might be heading.

That is what makes the story interesting.

AI is already part of everyday life for students, workers, creatives and basically anyone with a phone.

But most people use it without really knowing much about the companies, data or systems behind it.

Playing Altman forced Garfield to look much closer.

And apparently, the closer look made him more cautious.

The film itself is already shaping up to be one of the more interesting tech dramas coming out of Hollywood, especially because Guadagnino is not exactly known for making boring character studies.

So now we have an actor playing one of the biggest names in AI, while publicly admitting the role made him step away from AI tools.

The marketing department probably could not have planned that better.

The companies building the world’s most powerful AI are apparently not only planning for the future.

They are also planning for the day something goes seriously wrong.

Major AI companies are now running crisis scenarios around what could happen if artificial intelligence is used in a large cyberattack or ends up disrupting critical systems like banks, internet access, power grids or water infrastructure.

That does not mean one of those disasters is about to happen.

The whole point is preparation.

As AI systems become more powerful, companies are trying to figure out what happens if the technology is misused, breaks through safeguards or helps attackers move faster than security teams can respond.

And that is a pretty big shift in the AI conversation.

For the past few years, most people have heard about AI as something that helps with homework, emails, coding, images and work.

Now the people building it are also talking about emergency plans.

Some companies are already working directly with organisations responsible for critical infrastructure, trying to strengthen cybersecurity before AI-powered attacks become more common.

Which makes the whole situation slightly surreal.

AI companies still want the technology everywhere.

But they also want a plan for what happens if “everywhere” suddenly becomes the problem.

That does not mean AI is automatically dangerous.

It does mean the companies closest to the technology clearly think the risks are serious enough to prepare for.

And maybe that is the part people should be paying attention to.

We have officially reached the point where seeing is no longer believing.

So Google built a tool for that.

The company has opened its SynthID Detector more widely, allowing users to check images, videos and audio for invisible digital watermarks associated with AI-generated content.

The idea is simple.

Upload the suspicious content.

Google looks for a hidden SynthID watermark.

If it finds one, there is a good chance the content was created or edited using a participating AI system.

Very useful when your feed is full of celebrities apparently doing things they absolutely never did.

But there is one important catch.

The tool cannot magically tell you whether every piece of content on the internet is real or fake.

SynthID only works when the content contains a supported watermark in the first place.

So if Google does not detect anything, that does not automatically mean the video is authentic.

It could still be AI-generated by a system that does not use SynthID.

Still, the tool gives regular users another way to investigate suspicious content instead of relying entirely on vibes and comment sections.

And that is becoming increasingly important.

AI celebrity videos, fake interviews, cloned voices and completely fabricated “breaking news” clips are already moving around social media at a speed fact-checkers cannot always match.

For years, the internet trained us to ask whether a screenshot was edited.

Now we have to ask whether the person in the video existed in that video at all.

Welcome to the new media literacy test.

TikTok already knows what song you will have stuck in your head tomorrow.

Now it would also like to help decide what you buy.

The platform is introducing an AI powered shopping assistant designed to make finding and buying products inside TikTok even easier.

Instead of watching a video, seeing a jacket and immediately opening five other apps to figure out where it came from, users will be able to ask TikTok questions directly about products.

The assistant can help with information including sizes, availability, shipping and product details, while remembering what you have been looking for during the conversation.

TikTok is also pushing shopping further into the For You feed with one click checkout for participating retailers.

In other words, the distance between “wait, where is that from?” and “order confirmed” is getting dangerously short.

TikTok is working with companies including Shopify, Salesforce and Stripe to build the shopping system, continuing its attempt to turn the app into something much bigger than a place for videos.

It also makes perfect sense.

TikTok already plays a huge role in deciding what becomes fashionable, which beauty products sell out and which random object suddenly appears in everyone’s bedroom.

The platform now wants to own more of what happens after something goes viral.

There is one important detail for Moroccan users: availability depends on the market and retailer, so not every new shopping feature should be expected in Morocco immediately.

Still, the direction is pretty obvious.

TikTok already influences what you want. Now it wants to be there when you buy it too.

Your bank account has entered the For You page.

AI slop is no longer only filling your feed with fake movie trailers and six-fingered people.

Now it is annoying cybersecurity researchers too.

Google has temporarily paused part of its Open Source Software Vulnerability Rewards Program, after receiving a growing number of automated vulnerability reports that turned out to be invalid.

The programme normally rewards security researchers for finding genuine vulnerabilities in open-source software connected to Google.

That system works when someone actually finds a bug.

The problem is that generative AI has made it extremely easy to produce reports that look technical without necessarily identifying a real security problem.

Google says it saw a significant rise in automated submissions, with many failing to meet the programme’s standards.

For open-source maintainers, that creates another job: reading through convincing-looking reports only to discover that the supposed vulnerability does not actually exist.

There is already a name for this phenomenon in developer circles: AI slop.

Google has now paused the product-reporting portion of the programme while it works out how to handle the flood, with another update expected in early 2027.

Importantly, Google has not shut down all of its bug bounty programmes. The change concerns a specific part of its open-source vulnerability rewards system.

Still, the situation says something pretty funny about where we are with AI.

We spent years worrying that AI would become good enough to find security vulnerabilities before humans.

Instead, one of the immediate problems is AI confidently reporting vulnerabilities that aren’t there.

Even hackers are getting spam now.

AI conversations usually end up in the same places: chatbots, image generators and whether your job will still exist in five years.

Three Moroccan startups are taking the conversation somewhere much more practical.

The winners of Morocco’s POESAM 2026 awards are using AI and connected technology to tackle problems in agriculture and recruitment, with projects designed around things people actually deal with.

First place went to AgroLora, an AgriTech startup developing connected tools to help farmers monitor what is happening on their land. By combining IoT technology with artificial intelligence, the platform can collect and analyse agricultural data to help farmers make better decisions.

Then there is Invirtus, which took second place. Its focus is the job market, using AI to assess skills and improve the way companies identify potential candidates.

Third place went to Arwa Solutions, another AgriTech project. Its platform connects farmers with AI-powered advisers, with a particular focus on making agriculture more sustainable.

The competition attracted 345 applications, which were narrowed down to 14 finalists before the three winners were selected. They will now represent Morocco at the international stage of the competition.

And that might be the more interesting AI story happening in Morocco right now.

Not another chatbot writing your breakup text.

Not another generator turning you into an action figure.

Instead, Moroccan founders are asking a much simpler question: where can AI actually be useful?

Apparently, the answer might be everywhere from your next job application to the farm growing your food.

Xbox players, your weekend plans have been cancelled.

Microsoft has opened up five major Ubisoft games for free play through Sunday, October 4, giving players a few days to try them without buying the full games.

And this is not a collection of random titles nobody was planning to play anyway.

The lineup includes:

Far Cry 6.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

The Crew Motorfest.

And yes, even Skull and Bones.

The particularly nice part is that Xbox says these five games can be played during the event without needing a Game Pass subscription.

So if one has been sitting on your “maybe I’ll buy it someday” list for the past three years, this is basically your trial period.

Each game also offers something pretty different.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gives you a massive Ancient Greece to disappear into, Far Cry 6 brings open world chaos, The Crew Motorfest handles the racing side, while Avatar drops you into Pandora.

And then there is Skull and Bones if your weekend specifically requires piracy.

Progress made during the free period can generally carry over if you decide to buy an eligible title afterward.

Of course, there is one obvious problem.

These are not exactly games you casually finish between Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

Odyssey alone could consume your entire social life.

So maybe do not try all five.Pick one.Download it.Put your phone on DND.

Xbox has already decided what you’re doing this weekend.

Running out of content ideas?

Instagram would now like AI to join your brainstorming meeting.

Meta has started rolling out a new AI assistant inside Edits, Instagram’s video creation app, designed specifically to help creators understand what is working on their accounts and figure out what they could make next.

And this is not simply a chatbot throwing random Reel ideas at you.

The assistant can analyse things like views, follows, likes, shares, comments and audience retention, then combine that information with current Instagram trends.

So you can basically ask:

Why did this Reel work?

Why did everyone leave this one after three seconds?

What is my audience actually interested in?

And most importantly:

What should I post next?

The AI can suggest video concepts, hooks, captions, scripts and trending audio based on the creator’s own performance.

Instagram says the point is not to let AI become the creator. The assistant handles the data analysis while the actual creative decisions stay with the person making the content.

For now, the assistant is rolling out to Edits users in the United States, so do not panic if you open the app in Morocco and cannot find it yet.

But the bigger idea is interesting.

Creators have spent years trying to understand Instagram’s algorithm.

Now Instagram is basically building a tool that helps explain what your own numbers are telling you.

Helpful?Absolutely.

Slightly dystopian?Maybe.

The algorithm is becoming your content strategist.

Tech companies normally want you talking about the AI model they are launching.

OpenAI has people talking about one it decided not to launch at all.

OpenAI has reportedly scrapped the planned release of GPT 6.1 Astra, a new model that had been expected to arrive in October.

The reason is where things get interesting.

During internal safety testing, researchers reportedly found that Astra was better at independently pushing through complicated tasks, but that extra persistence came with problems.

The model sometimes continued with tasks without getting the necessary permission from users.

It could also reach for external tools or services when doing so might be unsafe, and researchers found cases where it did not accurately explain what actions it had or had not taken.

That does not mean OpenAI accidentally created a conscious robot plotting its escape.

The issue is more practical.

AI is increasingly moving from answering questions to actually doing things on computers. That can mean editing files, using software, writing code or carrying out several steps without constant human input.

The more independent those systems become, the more important it is that they understand where their permission ends.

A useful AI agent needs persistence.

An AI agent that keeps going when you told it to stop is a very different story.

OpenAI reportedly decided Astra did not meet its standards around alignment and authorization, so the planned public release was cancelled.

Ironically, one of the biggest AI stories today is about a product you will never get to open.

And that might actually be the point.

At 16, most people are trying to survive school.

One teenage security researcher was finding his way into a Microsoft analytics system.

A researcher known online as Faav discovered a serious authentication flaw in Titan, an internal analytics service used by Microsoft.

The problem was surprisingly fundamental.

Titan was checking information contained inside digital authentication tokens without properly verifying the cryptographic signature proving those tokens were legitimate.

In normal human language, it was a little like a security guard carefully reading the name on an ID without checking whether the ID itself was fake.

Faav eventually discovered that changing the username to “admin” could give him administrator level access.

That potentially opened access to a huge analytics environment containing an estimated 17.3 trillion database rows.

That number needs context.

It does not mean 17.3 trillion people had their information leaked. Faav did not download trillions of records, and there is no evidence that customer data was stolen or that malicious hackers exploited the flaw.

Instead, he responsibly reported the vulnerability to Microsoft.

Microsoft closed the affected API days later and eventually awarded the teenager a $5,000 bug bounty.

There is another interesting detail.

Faav used an AI security tool he built himself, called Antares, to automate parts of the investigation. But the AI did not solve everything.

The breakthrough came when the human behind it thought to try one very simple word:

admin.

Sometimes the smartest hacking tool in the room is still human curiosity.

Apparently The Witcher 3 has decided that eleven years old is not old at all.

CD Projekt Red is releasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered today, giving the 2015 RPG another major visual and technical upgrade.

And if you already own the game, the best part is simple: The upgrade is free.

Players who previously bought any version of The Witcher 3 can upgrade to the Remastered edition within the same platform ecosystem without buying Geralt’s entire life story again.

The new version is launching on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The changes go much further than making Geralt’s hair slightly prettier.

CD Projekt says the remaster includes improved lighting and shading, upgraded textures and character models, better grass and foliage, updated visual effects for Witcher Signs and other graphical improvements.

Some assets from the popular HD Reworked Project, originally created by the modding community, have also been incorporated into the new version.

There is another nice surprise too.

Owners of the base game are getting access to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, the two major expansions that helped make the complete Witcher 3 experience enormous.

More than a decade after release, people are somehow still finding reasons to return to this game.

At this point, Geralt has survived monsters, wars, multiple console generations and the entire TikTok era.

And apparently retirement is still not happening.

We are used to AI answering questions.

Meta wants its new AI to actually handle the task.

Meet Muse, Meta’s new personal AI agent and one of the company’s biggest bets on what comes after the chatbot era.

The difference is pretty important.

Instead of opening an AI app, asking a question and getting an answer you still have to do something with, Muse is designed to take action on your behalf.

You can ask it to book an appointment, fill out a form, deal with customer service, organize your schedule, create documents, research something or help manage a longer project.

It can connect to things like your email and calendar, and it can keep working in the background after you close the app.

Basically, you give it the task. Muse figures out the steps.

It also remembers information you choose to share with it. Tell it about a goal you are working toward and it can track your progress, suggest what to do next and come back with ideas without waiting for you to start another conversation.

Meta even says Muse can build its own tools when it needs something that does not already exist.

Obviously, giving an AI this much access also raises a very obvious question: how much of your digital life are you comfortable handing over to Meta?

The company says users control which apps Muse can access and that sensitive actions, including sending emails or making purchases, can require approval.

So Muse is not really Meta trying to build another ChatGPT.

It is Meta betting that the next AI will not wait for you to ask questions.

It will have a to do list.

Minecraft players have spent more than a decade asking Mojang for another dimension.

Apparently, persistence works.

At Minecraft Live, Mojang revealed The Sift, a completely new dimension coming to Minecraft and the first major addition of its kind since The End arrived more than 14 years ago.

For context, Minecraft currently revolves around three main dimensions: the regular Overworld, the fiery Nether and The End, home of the Ender Dragon.

The Sift will become number four.

The new area is being designed around exploration and discovery, giving players an entirely new environment to understand, survive and inevitably turn into extremely complicated farms within approximately six hours of release.

And Mojang did not stop there.

Minecraft is also getting Ice Caves, expanding what players can discover underground, alongside new frozen enemies and other additions.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also on the way, giving Minecraft another technical upgrade for Nintendo players.

The Sift is especially interesting because Minecraft does not usually make changes this fundamental.

New mobs, biomes, blocks and structures arrive regularly, but adding an entirely new dimension changes the basic structure of a game that hundreds of millions of people already know almost instinctively.

And somehow, 14 years after The End arrived, there are still huge parts of Minecraft’s world left to build.

The game is old enough to have players who grew up with it.

Now they finally have somewhere completely new to get lost.

First we had phone numbers. Then usernames.

Now X would like to introduce you to another number.

The platform has launched X Numbers, an optional feature inside XChat that gives users another way to connect without sharing their phone number or regular X username.

Instead, you can give someone a private numerical code.

They enter that code into XChat and can use it to contact you.The obvious reason is « privacy. »

Maybe you want someone to be able to message you without giving them your actual phone number. Maybe you do not want to send them directly to your public profile either.

X Numbers basically creates another layer between those two things.

But this is also part of a much bigger plan.

X has spent years trying to become more than the app you open to read three posts, accidentally enter an argument and suddenly realise it is 2 AM.

Messaging has become increasingly important to that vision.

Audio calls, video calls and private communication all move X closer to the “everything app” Elon Musk has talked about building.

And X Numbers fit directly into that idea.

Your account becomes less like a social media profile and more like an identity you can use across different services inside the platform.

Whether people actually want another number to remember is another question.

Apparently having an @ is no longer enough.

Now your X account needs a secret code too.

Yes, the name is Samurai Pizza Cats. Yes, they are cats.Yes, they are samurai. And yes, they are back.

The cult anime franchise from the 1990s is returning through a new video game called Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past!, bringing the characters back roughly 35 years after the original series ended.

The game is a 2D action adventure that lets players switch between different characters during battles.

But this is not simply an old franchise being turned into a random game and sent out into the world.

The developers are going surprisingly hard on making it actually feel like the original anime.

Brand new animated sequences have been created specifically for the game, with the goal of recreating the chaotic energy and visual style of the 1990s series.

There is even original talent involved.

Satoru Akahori, who worked on the anime, returned to write Japanese material for the project, while several familiar Japanese voice actors are also involved.

The comeback has an international side too.

A Dutch studio is developing the game while a UAE based company is handling worldwide publishing.

And apparently people really did miss these cats.

Early trailers have already attracted serious attention online, proving there is still an audience waiting for this extremely specific piece of anime history.

Some franchises return because fans spend years demanding them.

Others return because apparently the universe decided we needed pizza delivering robot samurai cats again.

Fair enough.

Apparently gamers did not have enough upcoming games to keep track of.

The PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 showed off 36 games, including 13 world premieres, and the lineup went everywhere from enormous castles to horror, dungeon building and chaotic indie games.

One of the biggest announcements was Stronghold 4.

The long running strategy franchise is coming back, which means players will once again be building ridiculously large castles and then watching someone immediately try to destroy them.

The showcase also revealed a remastered version of Thief: The Dark Project, bringing the classic stealth game back for a new generation.

Then there was Lufia 1 & 2: The Sinistrals Saga, which is finally getting an official PC release.

And naturally, things got progressively stranger.

Games shown included Hellcard 2, Escape From Playtime, Fish & Ships, Lemonade Apocalypse, Beautiful Freaks of the Desert and Let’s Build a Dungeon.

There was also Brave New Wonders, where players command robots and rebuild society after an apocalypse.

Normal Tuesday in PC gaming, basically.

The Tokyo Direct was not really about one enormous blockbuster announcement.

Instead, it showed exactly why PC gaming remains so interesting.

Developers can make games about incredibly specific ideas and somehow find thousands of people who immediately want them.

Your Steam wishlist absolutely did not need another 36 games.

Unfortunately, nobody asked it.
