Yassir Zabiri’s start in Spain is getting harder to ignore.
The Moroccan forward scored again for Racing Santander, finding the net in their 2 2 draw against Valencia and continuing an impressive run in front of goal.
Zabiri scored Santander’s equaliser in the 32nd minute after Valencia had taken an early lead.
But the bigger number is this:
Seven goals in eight league appearances.
That is a very good way to introduce yourself to Spanish football.
Zabiri has been one of the Moroccan names worth watching for a while, but numbers like that move a player from “promising” into a much louder conversation.
And scoring consistently in Spain matters.
Every good performance brings more attention, more pressure and more people wondering how high his ceiling actually goes.
For Moroccan fans, it also adds another young player to follow outside the usual big-name national team stars.
That is probably the most exciting part of Morocco’s current football generation.
There is always someone new appearing.
One month, a player is mostly known by people who follow youth football closely.
A few strong games later, clips are everywhere.
Zabiri is starting to have that kind of season.
There is still a long way to go, obviously. Eight games do not make an entire career, and football loves humbling anyone who gets comfortable too quickly.
But seven goals is seven goals.
And against Valencia, he showed again that the early form was not disappearing.
Morocco already has plenty of players worth watching in Europe.
Apparently, the list needed another name.
