Xbox Just Stole Kojima From PlayStation

stache.tech

PlayStation dropped Kojima. Xbox said: “We’ll take him.”

Hideo Kojima’s next major game, Physint, has taken an unexpected turn. After Sony ended its publishing agreement for the project earlier this year, Kojima Productions reportedly spent months looking for a new partner , and has now teamed up with Xbox.

The move is a pretty wild one considering Kojima’s long relationship with PlayStation. His previous major title, Death Stranding 2, was released as a PlayStation console exclusive, while his next game was expected to follow a similar path.

Physint is being described as a new action-espionage game and a spiritual successor to Kojima’s Metal Gear series. But don’t expect it anytime soon: the game isn’t currently expected to arrive before 2030.

So, in gaming terms, this is basically a transfer nobody saw coming:

Sony said no. Xbox said alright bet.

And now gamers have one very long question to sit with:

Was Xbox’s biggest signing actually Hideo Kojima?
