Morocco is accelerating on three strategic fronts:
exports, water security,
and energy transition.

First, the CGEM
is pushing to transform exports
into a major growth engine
for Moroccan TPMEs.

During the latest Carrefour de la TPME in Casablanca,

business leaders emphasized
that only around 6,000 Moroccan companies
currently export internationally —

a figure considered far below
the country’s real economic potential.

The objective is clear:

encourage smaller businesses
to move beyond the local market
and integrate global value chains.

This strategy is increasingly seen
as essential for competitiveness,
job creation,
and long-term growth.

At the same time,
Morocco is also strengthening
its response to water stress.

Minister Nizar Baraka
announced a national objective
of reaching 1.7 billion cubic meters
of desalinated water production annually.

The country currently produces
around 420 million cubic meters per year,

but rising drought conditions
and climate pressure
are forcing a rapid expansion
of desalination infrastructure.

Meanwhile,
the energy sector is also evolving.

The 11th edition of the African Energy Meetings
will take place soon in Casablanca,

bringing together experts, investors,
and institutions

around financing and innovation
for the continent’s energy transition.

The focus this year
is on decarbonization,
green technologies,
and new financial models

to accelerate sustainable energy development in Africa.

Together, these developments
highlight a broader transformation.

Morocco is increasingly positioning itself
as a regional hub

for industrial competitiveness,
water resilience,
and energy innovation.

In summary:
Morocco is advancing simultaneously on exports, desalination, and energy transition to strengthen long-term resilience.

A strategy built around competitiveness, sustainability,
and regional leadership.
