This week in gaming is absolutely destroying your free time

Gamers, maybe don’t make plans this week.

September 14-20 is looking ridiculously crowded for new releases, with Wolverine, Batman, Fire Emblem, RuneScape and more all competing for the same limited number of hours in your day.

The obvious headline is Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac’s long-awaited PS5 game starring Logan. But Wolverine isn’t entering an empty arena.

Nintendo players are getting Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on Switch 2, adding another major entry to the strategy RPG franchise.

Then there’s RuneScape: Dragonwilds , which brings the RuneScape universe into a survival-crafting experience and expands onto Xbox Series X|S.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is also joining the party, tapping into both Batman nostalgia and the particular chaos that only a LEGO game can deliver.

And  Aniimo  adds another option for players looking for something more colorful, creature-focused and fantasy-heavy.

Basically, whether you’re into superheroes, tactical RPGs, survival games or creature collecting, somebody has designed a way to destroy your productivity this week.

The real boss fight isn’t in any of these games.

It’s your backlog.
