Rico Verhoeven Refuses to Move On… And He’s Already Calling for an Immediate Rematch with Oleksandr Usyk

sport

Sometimes, a fight ends…

But the controversy is only beginning.

Weeks after his dramatic defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven has broken his silence.

And his message is crystal clear:

« Let’s finish the story. »

After appealing the result of his heavyweight boxing clash, Verhoeven officially learned that the commission would not overturn the stoppage.

The victory remains in Usyk’s hands.

But according to the Dutch superstar, the decision leaves one major question unanswered.

How would the fight have ended if it had gone the distance?

─────────

Verhoeven argues that the bell ending Round 11 had already sounded before the referee officially stopped the fight, while medical officials reportedly found no signs that he was disoriented after the bout.

Despite those findings, the commission ruled that the outcome would remain unchanged.

Interestingly, Verhoeven didn’t attack Usyk.

In fact, he praised the Ukrainian champion, calling him one of the greatest fighters of his generation.

His frustration isn’t directed at his opponent…

It’s directed at the ending itself.

He believes the fans deserved to see a twelfth and final round.

And so did the fighters.

Now, the former GLORY king wants one thing:

An immediate rematch.

Not to erase history…

But to finish it.

The rivalry has suddenly become even bigger, with many fans already debating whether boxing owes them one more chapter between these two elite champions.

─────────

But here’s the real question…

Should Oleksandr Usyk give Rico Verhoeven an immediate rematch… or should he move on to the next challenger and leave the controversy behind?
