Netflix is getting ready to release Alley Cats, a new animated comedy created by the British comedian known for one very specific thing:
making people laugh… and immediately start arguing online.
Because with Gervais, you pretty much know what you’re getting.
Dark humor.
Provocation.
Awkward situations.

That’s basically become part of his brand.
And animation gives him even more freedom to push that style.
With Alley Cats, the idea isn’t to create another cute animated show you can casually watch with the family.
This is much more in the territory of adult comedy.
And that’s exactly why Gervais is such an interesting choice.
Because he’s one of those comedians who can turn a completely ordinary situation into something incredibly uncomfortable…
then somehow make it hilarious.
But why does he divide people so much?
It’s simple.
He doesn’t really care about staying comfortable.
