Two recognizable gaming universes are coming together, with Blizzard Entertainment and Shift Up preparing a crossover between Overwatch and Stellar Blade.

The collaboration, titled EVE Protocol, reimagines several Overwatch heroes through the characters and futuristic aesthetic of Stellar Blade, the action game developed by South Korean studio Shift Up.

The newly revealed designs put Widowmaker in an outfit inspired by Eve, Stellar Blade’s protagonist. Other character combinations include D.Va as Lily, Freja as Raven, Soldier: 76 as Adam and Vendetta as Tachy.

The crossover is more than a simple exchange of character outfits. It brings together two games with different identities: Overwatch’s team-based multiplayer battles and Stellar Blade’s cinematic, story-driven combat.

For fans, the appeal lies in seeing familiar characters interpreted through another game’s visual language. The collaboration’s early artwork has already highlighted redesigned costumes and weapons that combine elements from both franchises.

It also reflects how important crossovers have become to modern online games. Limited-time collaborations allow developers to introduce their titles to different audiences while giving established players fresh customization options.

Overwatch has increasingly become a space where gaming identities, character design and pop culture meet. Partnerships of this kind can turn a cosmetic release into a wider conversation across fan communities.

The latest reporting points to a November 4 launch, following earlier announcements that mentioned November 3. The artwork rollout is already taking place, but the precise in-game availability should be confirmed before publication.

For players of either franchise, EVE Protocol is shaping up to be one of the week’s more visually distinctive gaming releases.
