Morocco’s Health Reform Brings Major Changes for Medical Students

societé

Morocco is moving forward

with a major reform

of the status of medical, pharmacy,

and dental students.

The new reform aims to modernize training

and better adapt medical education

to the country’s healthcare needs.

Under the new system,

students will now be classified

into four official categories:

observer, extern, intern,

and resident.

The reform also allows access

to the internship exam

starting from the fourth year of studies,

instead of the fifth year previously.

Another major change concerns specialists,

whose required public service commitment

will gradually decrease

from eight years to three years by 2032.

Officials say the reform could help integrate

more than 6,600 additional specialists

into Morocco’s public healthcare system

by 2032.

In summary:
Morocco’s healthcare reform introduces

new rules and statuses for medical students,

with changes aimed at modernizing training

and strengthening the national healthcare system.
