And now let’s talk about something big for gamers in Morocco.

Registrations have officially opened for the Morocco Gaming Expo 2026, one of the biggest gaming events in North Africa. The event will take place from May 20 to May 24, 2026 in Rabat, at the Sofitel Jardin des Roses.

The expo is organized by Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and is becoming a major meeting point for developers, esports players, startups, investors, and gaming fans from Morocco and abroad.

During the event, visitors will be able to attend:

  • esports tournaments

  • gaming exhibitions

  • industry conferences

  • cosplay competitions

  • and even game development talks.

But this event is not just about playing games.

It’s part of a bigger strategy.

Morocco is trying to build a real video-game industry ecosystem, with programs designed to help young Moroccan developers create their own studios and projects.

For example, the government recently launched the second edition of the Video Game Incubator program, selecting 12 Moroccan entrepreneurs who will receive training, mentorship from international experts, and access to industry networks.

And the best projects could even be presented at Gamescom in Germany, one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world.

So the message is clear.

Morocco doesn’t just want to play video games anymore.

It wants to create them.

And for thousands of young Moroccans who grew up with PlayStation, esports, and online gaming, this could turn a passion into a real career.
