Cancel the plans. Charge the controller. Logan has entered the chat.

After years of waiting, Marvel’s Wolverine officially arrives on PS5 on September 15, bringing one of Marvel’s most iconic mutants into his own major PlayStation adventure.

The game comes from Insomniac Games — aka the studio behind PlayStation’s hugely successful Marvel’s Spider-Manseries ,but don’t expect Spider-Man with claws.

Insomniac has built Wolverine around Logan’s much more brutal personality. Combat is close-range, aggressive and considerably more violent, with his adamantium claws doing exactly what you would expect adamantium claws to do.

And unlike Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, Wolverine isn’t simply another massive open-world superhero playground. The focus is tighter, more cinematic and built around Logan himself.

That distinction matters because expectations are ridiculously high. Insomniac helped redefine what a modern superhero game could look like with Spider-Man, so giving Wolverine the same blockbuster treatment was always going to get gamers talking.

It also arrives during an unusually stacked week for gaming, meaning your backlog is about to become somebody else’s problem.

For Marvel fans, PlayStation players and everyone who has spent years asking when Wolverine would finally get his moment, the wait is officially over.

The claws are out.
