LISA’s new solo EP is here. And one song is called « Tarantino »

LISA has entered another solo era, and this time she’s making it feel like a movie.

The BLACKPINK member released her new six-track EP, PRESS PLAY, on Friday, October 23, along with a music video for the song Tarantino.

And if that title sounds familiar, yes, it’s a reference to filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

The project follows LISA’s 2025 solo album Alter Ego and marks another step in her career outside BLACKPINK.

The EP includes six tracks: SaWaDiKa, V12, Cobra, Tarantino, Cut U Off and Sweat.

But there’s more to it than another collection of pop songs.

LISA wants you to experience this like a film.

The concept behind PRESS PLAY is cinematic storytelling.

Rather than having every track follow the same sound or mood, LISA describes the songs as different characters coming together to create one larger experience.

And that approach is especially visible in the Tarantino music video.

The visuals follow LISA as she moves through a hotel on a mission to deliver a letter to the filmmaker she admires.

Expect action-inspired sequences, dramatic styling and the kind of polished choreography her fans know her for.

The project also draws inspiration from her Thai identity.

Earlier single SaWaDiKa takes its title from a Thai greeting, while its visuals incorporate references to Bangkok and traditional elements of Thai culture.

For LISA, representing her roots has become an increasingly important part of her solo work.

The EP also arrives ahead of another career milestone: her upcoming Las Vegas residency.

Between new music, cinematic visuals and international performances, she’s building a solo identity that extends well beyond her role in BLACKPINK.

And with a song named after one of cinema’s most recognizable directors, LISA clearly isn’t trying to make this era look ordinary.
