Someone finally collected all seven Dragon Balls and apparently wished for LEGO.
Because after decades of Dragon Ball existing without an official LEGO collaboration, LEGO and Toei Animation have finally made it happen.
The two companies have announced their first Dragon Ball partnership, beginning with one of the most obvious things they could possibly build:
Shenron.
The first set contains 1,764 pieces and recreates the iconic moment when Shenron rises after all seven Dragon Balls are collected.
There is also a Kid Goku minifigure riding Kintoun, because obviously Shenron cannot arrive without someone there to make the wish.
Even the base incorporates seven pieces representing the Dragon Balls.
And this is not going to be a one set situation.
LEGO has already confirmed that more Dragon Ball sets are coming in 2027 and beyond, meaning the real question now is which characters and locations are next.
Capsule Corp?
Kame House?
Frieza?
A ridiculously huge Great Ape that requires an entire shelf?
The possibilities are dangerous for anyone with both nostalgia and access to a bank card.
The Shenron and Goku set launches first for LEGO Insiders on November 1, before becoming widely available on November 4.
It is also based specifically on the original Dragon Ball era, rather than jumping immediately into Dragon Ball Z.
After nearly four decades of Goku collecting Dragon Balls, fighting increasingly impossible enemies and somehow still finding time to eat everything in sight, the franchise has unlocked another form.
Goku is officially a LEGO minifigure.
