Faouzia just crossed a pretty major milestone.
The Moroccan-Canadian singer has now passed 100 million Spotify streams with “Unethical,” proving once again that songs do not always need to explode the second they drop.
Sometimes, the internet decides they deserve a second life.
“Unethical” had already been out for a while before it started gaining new momentum online, with clips, edits and fan content helping push the song back into people’s feeds. That renewed attention eventually translated into streams and chart movement, including an appearance on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
Basically, TikTok-era music discovery did what it does best: took an older song and made everyone suddenly ask why they had not been listening to it already.
For Faouzia, the milestone adds another big number to a career that has been steadily growing internationally.
Born in Morocco and raised in Canada, she has spent the past few years building an audience far beyond either country, balancing pop, dramatic vocals and a sound that is instantly recognizable as hers.
And while 100 million streams is already huge, the interesting part here is how it happened.
Music releases used to have a pretty short window to become hits. Now, a song can sit quietly for months before one video, trend or fan edit suddenly sends it back into circulation.
“Unethical” is the latest example.
The song may not be new.Its moment clearly is.
