A major student event is kicking off today in Rabat.

The 12th edition of the EMI Olympic Games has officially begun,
bringing together more than 2,000 engineering students
from top schools across Morocco.

The competition will run until March 29,
offering a mix of traditional and modern disciplines.

In total, participants will compete across 16 classic sports,
ranging from football and basketball
to athletics and team-based challenges.

But what makes this edition stand out
is the growing role of esports.

Alongside physical competitions,
a large-scale gaming tournament has been organized
on titles like League of Legends
and EA Sports FC 26.

This reflects a broader evolution in student events.

Esports is no longer seen as a side activity,
but as a core part of competition,
attracting strong engagement and participation.

Beyond the competitive aspect,
the event also serves as a platform for networking and exchange.

Students from different institutions
come together to connect, collaborate,
and build relationships beyond academics.

In summary:

The EMI Olympic Games bring together
over 2,000 engineering students in Rabat,
combining traditional sports with esports competition.

An event that highlights
the changing nature of student culture,
where physical performance and digital competition
now go hand in hand.
