BMW M3 CS “Handschalter”: The Lightest Manual M3 Ever

BMW M division

has unveiled a special send-off version of the M3 (G80 generation),

marking the end of its lifecycle

with the lightest M3 CS ever made.

This new model,

badged “Handschalter”,

comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox

and rear-wheel drive setup,

aimed at purist driving enthusiasts.

Under the hood,

it features a 3.0-litre inline-six engine

producing 466.5 hp and 550 Nm of torque,

allowing it to reach 0–100 km/h in 4.2 seconds

with a top speed of up to 290 km/h.

BMW has also focused on weight reduction,

making it 34 kg lighter than the standard M3,

using extensive carbon fibre (CFRP) across the body,

including the roof, bonnet, diffuser and mirrors.

Inside,

the car comes fully equipped as standard

with M Carbon bucket seats,

Harman Kardon audio,

advanced driving tools like M Drift Analyser

and M Laptimer,

plus a 10-level traction control system.
