Nintendo has 15 minutes to convince us we need more games

Nintendo has another gaming presentation lined up, and this time, it’s keeping things short.

Very short.

The company is hosting a new Indie World Showcase today, October 28, with approximately 15 minutes of announcements and updates about upcoming games.

And while that might not sound like much time, Nintendo has a habit of making even its smaller presentations worth watching.

What is indie world?

Unlike a regular Nintendo Direct, which can feature major franchises and blockbuster announcements, Indie World focuses on games created by independent studios.

These are often smaller teams working on unusual ideas, creative visuals and gameplay that doesn’t necessarily follow the usual blockbuster formula.

Some of the most talked-about games in recent years have come from independent developers, proving that a massive budget isn’t always necessary to create something memorable.

The upcoming showcase will feature games being developed for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

What time does it start?

Nintendo has scheduled the presentation for 3 PM Morocco time, and viewers will be able to watch through Nintendo’s official channels.

The company hasn’t revealed the full lineup, meaning fans will have to tune in to discover which games are getting updates.

And naturally, speculation is already part of the conversation.

But Nintendo has not promised announcements for major franchises like Mario, Zelda or Pokémon.

This is an indie-focused presentation.

Why should games care?

Because indie showcases often introduce games people weren’t expecting to become obsessed with.

Sometimes it’s a cozy game you end up playing for hours.

Other times, it’s something so unusual that you immediately send the trailer to your friends.

Either way, Nintendo is giving independent developers their moment in the spotlight.

And all it needs is 15 minutes.

So, are we getting our next gaming obsession today?
