Hakim Ziyech’s new chapter in Brazil is underway, and his coach believes the Moroccan international still has another level to reach.

Following Botafogo’s 1–0 victory over Chapecoense on October 17, manager Tite spoke about Ziyech’s adaptation to Brazilian football, highlighting both his technical ability and the physical improvements needed to perform consistently.

Ziyech started the match but was substituted in the 55th minute.

Speaking afterward, Tite praised the midfielder’s qualities while explaining that Brazilian football requires a particular level of intensity, physical conditioning and match rhythm.

According to the coach, improving those aspects will help Ziyech contribute more effectively to the team’s attacking performances.

And this isn’t necessarily unusual for a player moving into a different football environment.

Even experienced internationals can need time to adjust to a new league, especially one with different tactical systems, demanding travel schedules and unfamiliar opponents.

For Ziyech, the move represents another important stage in a career that has taken him through several major football environments.

The former Ajax and Chelsea player joined Botafogo after his spell with Wydad Athletic Club, signing a contract running until the end of 2028.

During his time at Wydad, he recorded nine goals and two assists across 16 appearances.

His technical reputation remains one of his strongest assets, particularly his passing, vision and ability to create opportunities from difficult positions.

But Tite believes improving his physical sharpness will allow those qualities to translate into greater influence on the pitch.

For Moroccan fans following his career, the message is less about questioning Ziyech’s talent and more about the process of adapting to a new challenge.

The expectations are still there. Now it’s about finding consistency and rhythm in Brazil.
