Jordan 11 just got a luxury fashion makeover

The Air Jordan 11 has officially entered its designer era , and COMME des GARÇONS kept it surprisingly clean.

For a sneaker that has been around since 1995, the Air Jordan 11 has rarely let anyone mess with the formula.

Until now.

COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus has teamed up with Jordan Brand for the first-ever official Air Jordan 11 collaboration — and instead of covering it in logos or going completely wild, the Japanese fashion house basically turned the legendary basketball sneaker into a luxury dress shoe.

So what’s different?

There are two versions: all-black and all-white.

The classic mesh upper is gone, replaced with full-grain leather, while the midsole gets a glossy finish that gives the sneaker a much more polished look.

Even the classic heel branding has been switched up, with COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus replacing the usual details.

Basically:

From the basketball court to Paris Fashion Week, the Air Jordan 11 has officially entered the world of Japanese avant-garde fashion ,and came out looking like a luxury sneaker.

And somehow… it works.

Why is this a big deal?

The AJ11 is one of Jordan Brand’s most protected and recognizable silhouettes.

It was designed by Tinker Hatfield, famously worn by Michael Jordan during the 1995–96 season, and has become one of the most iconic Jordans ever.

So giving COMME des GARÇONS the first-ever collaboration on the model is kind of a fashion-history moment.

The collab officially released September 5 through Dover Street Market and selected COMME des GARÇONS stores for $358 — around 3,360 DH before shipping, taxes or resale markup.

And resale is already considerably higher in some sizes, with StockX showing pairs selling well above retail.

The question: Did COMME des GARÇONS make the Jordan 11 better  or did they ruin a classic?
