Remember Palworld, the game that became one of the biggest survival hits in recent years?
Well, its studio, Pocketpair, has another game ,and it’s been stuck in Steam Early Access for six years.
Craftopia launched on September 4, 2020, and today, on its sixth birthday, Pocketpair finally announced that the game will leave Early Access and launch as Version 1.0 in 2027.
The catch? Craftopia currently has a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam, with players criticizing its unfinished state and accusing the studio of abandoning it.
Pocketpair says the 1.0 update will focus on polishing the game, fixing existing issues and improving the overall experience, with some new content also planned.
And there’s a pretty funny full-circle moment here: Pocketpair’s publishing and communications head called Craftopia “the game that Pocketpair would not exist without.”
So after six years of waiting, the question is:
Can Craftopia finally escape Early Access and its “Mostly Negative” reputation with it?
