Imagine spending years building your name outside the UFC , and when you finally get your shot, the UFC puts you straight into the main event.
That’s exactly what’s happening to Salahdine Parnasse this Saturday, September 5, at UFC Paris.
The French-Moroccan fighter will make his UFC debut against Dan Hooker, an experienced UFC veteran and ranked lightweight. And instead of starting with a smaller fight, Parnasse is immediately being thrown into a five-round main event.
Parnasse isn’t a random newcomer.
The 28-year-old has spent around eight years fighting professionally and built his reputation with KSW, one of Europe’s biggest MMA promotions.He became a two-division champion and enters the UFC having won 23 of his 25 professional fights, losing only twice before reaching the promotion.
His opponent is Dan Hooker, a UFC veteran with years of experience at the highest level.
Hooker has already added some tension to the matchup, suggesting that Parnasse’s UFC debut could also be his last UFC main event.
