CD Projekt RED surprised fans with one last adventure.
It’s called The Witcher III: Songs of the Past.

The expansion is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
It’s being co-developed by CD Projekt RED and Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of several former Witcher developers.

The biggest surprise?
Geralt of Rivia is back as the main playable character.
Just like Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, this will be a single-player story expansion with no online mode planned.

CD Projekt RED is keeping everything under wraps.
The studio has confirmed that more details—including the first look at gameplay—will arrive later this summer, with many fans expecting a reveal around Gamescom.

But if it follows previous Witcher expansions, fans expect it to be a premium DLC offering dozens of hours of new content.
For now, all we know is that this marks Geralt’s final return before the franchise fully shifts its focus to The Witcher IV.
