Known by the nickname « Papillon, » this young Moroccan was born near Agadir before falling into extreme poverty in Casablanca.
As a teenager…
He left Morocco for Spain…
Then France…
Looking for a better life.

In 2023…
With no military background…
He made a life-changing decision.
He volunteered to join Ukraine’s International Legion, saying he was moved by reports of civilian massacres after Russia’s invasion.

He first fought as an infantry soldier.
But one unexpected skill changed everything.
He had learned to fly drones during lunch breaks with a colleague in France.
That small experience caught the attention of his instructors…
Who trained him to become an FPV combat drone pilot.

He eventually completed 39 combat missions, using drones for reconnaissance and strike operations.
But the war left deep scars.
He says loud noises now remind him of drones and explosions…
And he continues to deal with both physical pain and psychological trauma.

Today…
After leaving the front lines…
His goal is no longer to fight.
It’s to train drone pilots.
According to his account, organizations in Europe, Africa and Latin America have already shown interest in his expertise, but he says he carefully avoids working with militias or armed groups.
