For six days…
The spotlight won’t be on movie stars.
It’ll be on students.
From July 4 to 9, Casablanca will host the 38th International Festival of University Theatre (FITUC), bringing together young performers, directors and artists from around the world.
─────────
But this isn’t just another theatre festival.
FITUC is one of the oldest university theatre festivals in the world, and for nearly four decades, it has turned Casablanca into a meeting place for creativity, culture and dialogue.
─────────
This year’s theme focuses on bringing together young people from Europe, Africa, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean through art.
The program includes:
International performances.
Workshops led by theatre professionals.
Academic conferences.
Cultural exchanges between students from several countries.
─────────
The festival will also pay tribute to several major figures of Moroccan theatre, including its founder Hassan Smili, while launching a permanent theatre workshop for students and young people in Casablanca.
A way to ensure that creativity doesn’t end when the festival does.
─────────
In a world dominated by social media and short videos…
Theatre reminds us of something different.
No filters.
No edits.
Just real people…
Sharing real emotions on stage.
─────────
Because sometimes…
The most powerful stories aren’t streamed on your phone.
They’re performed live.
─────────
But here’s the real question…
If you had to choose one art form to tell your story… would it be cinema, music… or theatre?
