Medical Cannabis in Morocco: Calls Grow for More Transparency

societé

Medical cannabis is entering a new era in Morocco.

More than 140 cannabis-based medicines have now been officially registered.

But one question remains…

Where is the information?

─────────

The Moroccan Consumer Protection Observatory is calling on authorities to publish a complete list of the registered medicines.

Not just their names…

But also their therapeutic uses, scientific evidence, prescription rules and where patients can access them.

─────────

The organization says transparency is essential.

While Morocco has made major progress in building a legal medical cannabis industry, many doctors, pharmacists and patients still don’t know exactly which products are available or who they are intended for.

─────────

The Observatory also points to confusion among some farmers involved in the legal cannabis sector, with reports that not everyone clearly understands how their crops are ultimately used within the pharmaceutical supply chain.

─────────

Authorities have already announced that more than 600 authorized points of sale are supplied with these products.

The next challenge is making sure healthcare professionals—and the public—have reliable, accessible information about them.

─────────

Medical cannabis isn’t just about growing a new industry.

It’s about building trust.

Because when it comes to healthcare…

Patients need more than access.

They need clarity.

─────────

But here’s the real question…

Can a healthcare system earn public trust without full transparency… especially when it comes to new medical treatments?
