Some bands perform.
Others create moments.
And once again…
Hoba Hoba Spirit reminded everyone why they’ve become one of Morocco’s most iconic live acts.
─────────
During the 27th Gnaoua and World Music Festival in Essaouira, the Casablanca-based rock band set the Moulay Hassan Stage on fire with a high-energy performance that had thousands of festivalgoers singing along.
─────────
For Hoba Hoba Spirit…
This wasn’t just another concert.
They’ve been part of the festival since its earliest editions.
As the festival has grown into one of Africa’s biggest cultural events…
The band has grown right alongside it.
─────────
After the show, the group’s members described the festival as « home. »
They reflected on more than two decades of unforgettable performances, musical collaborations and friendships built around Gnaoua culture.
Despite lineup changes over the years…
Their message remains the same:
Hoba Hoba Spirit is a family.
─────────
The band also spoke about one of its newest challenges:
Performing alongside the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra.
A bold fusion that pushed them beyond their comfort zone while opening a new chapter in their musical journey.
─────────
More than 25 years after their formation…
Hoba Hoba Spirit continues to prove that great music doesn’t need to follow trends.
It needs authenticity.
Energy.
And a crowd ready to sing every word.
─────────
But here’s the real question…
Which Moroccan band do you think delivers the best live performance: Hoba Hoba Spirit… or someone else?
