German automotive supplier Leoni Cable Solutions has officially launched construction work on
a new industrial facility, reinforcing Morocco’s growing position as a major automotive manufacturing hub.
The project reflects the company’s long-term commitment to expanding its operations in the Kingdom.
─────────
The new plant represents an investment of approximately 640 million dirhams and will cover an area
of around 35,000 square meters, making it one of Leoni’s largest recent industrial projects in Morocco.
─────────
According to the company, the facility is expected to create nearly 4,000 direct and indirect jobs,
further strengthening the country’s automotive ecosystem and supporting local employment.
─────────
The site will also include advanced production capabilities, as well as a training center and an innovation
and research hub dedicated to automotive wiring technologies, helping Morocco move further up the automotive value chain.
─────────
Leoni has been operating in Morocco for decades and already employs around 20,000 people across multiple
production sites, making the country one of its most important industrial bases outside Europe.
─────────
This new investment is part of a broader industrial development program worth more than 932 million dirhams,
aimed at expanding the group’s footprint and supporting the continued growth of Morocco’s automotive industry.
─────────
One thing is clear:
Morocco continues to attract major international automotive investments, and Leoni’s new plant is another
sign of the country’s rising importance in global automotive supply chains.
