Pinterest launches “Ask Pinterest” — a new AI shopping experience

Pinterest has introduced an experimental new app called “Ask Pinterest”, designed to turn product

discovery into a conversational AI experience.

─────────

The app allows users to ask questions in natural language and receive personalized shopping and inspiration

suggestions, powered by Pinterest’s internal “Taste Graph”, which maps users’ interests, styles, and preferences.

─────────

Unlike the traditional Pinterest feed, this new experience works more like a chatbot-style assistant, helping userswith

complex or multi-step requests such as planning ideas, finding aesthetic inspiration, or discovering products tailored to their taste.

─────────

A key feature is that Ask Pinterest can also use users’ saved Pins and Boards to refine its

recommendations, making the responses more personalized over time.

Pinterest says this is an experimental standalone app, meaning it is not replacing the main platform yet,

but rather serving as a testbed for future AI-powered shopping tools.

─────────

The launch comes as more tech companies push into AI-driven shopping and discovery,

competing to redefine how users search for products online.

─────────

One thing is clear:

Pinterest is evolving from a visual inspiration platform into a conversational

AI shopping assistant powered by personal taste and data.
