Accueil LNT News Stache Meta spins out VR fitness app Supernatural
Meta has decided to give its VR fitness game Supernatural a second life by spinning it out
into a separate company, rather than shutting it down as previously expected.
─────────
Originally developed by Within and later acquired by Meta, Supernatural became
one of the standout success stories in VR fitness, offering immersive, coach-led workouts on Meta Quest headsets.
─────────
The platform was recently at risk after Meta began scaling back parts of its VR and metaverse strategy,
raising concerns among users about its long-term future.
─────────
Now, instead of discontinuing the service, Meta is transferring Supernatural to a new independent entity called
Supernatural Health, which will operate the app separately while continuing development and support.
─────────
The move allows the game to continue evolving outside Meta’s internal restructuring,
while preserving its existing community and subscription base.
─────────
This decision reflects a broader shift in Meta’s priorities, as the company continues to rebalance investment
between VR, mixed reality, and its growing focus on artificial intelligence and wearable devices.
─────────
One thing is clear: rather than disappearing, Supernatural is being repositioned
for a standalone future in the VR fitness ecosystem.
